Kalon Surf – The Luxury Surf Resort

Located on the central Pacific coast of Costa Rica, Kalon Surf is a boutique surf resort that aims to provide a more luxurious surf experience. The resort sits on a lush hillside with an ocean view just outside the beach town of Dominical.

While the coastline near Kalon Surf and Dominical is loaded with surf spots for all levels and experience, Kalon caters more to the beginner and intermediate surfers. They have waves and programs specifically for surfers who have never even touched a surfboard or may have tried it once or twice. This includes dryland training, classes in their pool, one on one instruction, video analysis, and post-session follow-up complete with an aloe treatment for your skin.

Kalon can also help advanced beginners and intermediate surfers improve and build on their previous surf experience. This also includes coaching, video analysis, pool training, and more to help a surfer take the next step and level up. They also offer programs for advanced and experienced surfers and will take guided trips to more critical waves to coach and help surfers improve even more.

Accommodations at Kalon Surf resort consist of two options. Their Toucan Bungalows offer access to two bedrooms and two bathrooms and sit a few hundred feet away from the main house. These are geared toward the guests who would like a more private experience. The other option is their ocean view rooms with a 180-degree panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean and overlooking the jungle and organic garden at the resort. The resort touts its nice furnishings, high-quality sheets, and overall luxury surf resort experience.

The packages at Kalon Surf are all-inclusive, including an airport shuttle from San Jose in an air-conditioned SUV. An in-house chef prepares 3-course dinners each night that are locally inspired with ingredients grown and caught in the area, topped off with a glass of wine. Breakfast and lunch are either served at the resort or at the beach, depending on the day’s surfing schedule. Beer, juice, coffee, and homemade snacks are also readily available. Their ocean view is available for relaxing or working on your surfing skills in a controlled environment.

Kalon Surf resort also caters to Yoga enthusiasts. They offer Yoga & Pilates Hybrid classes that are entry-level & tailored to surfing in a spectacular setting. The resort is also available to be booked out for either surf retreats or yoga retreats, or combinations of both.
