Located in the famed surfing town of the same name, the Surfers Lodge Peniche prides itself on its motto, “we’re a home, not a hotel’.
They love their wine and consider themselves a surf resort that also welcomes wine travelers. They collaborate with local wineries and invite the winemakers to host tastings in their restaurants. Their menus feature international cuisine based upon the abundant local produce.
This 4-star eco-hotel on the silver coast of Portugal is central to waves such as Supertubos, Bananas, Prainha, and many, many others. Peniche will pick up waves year-round, however, it’s generally the biggest and best in winter with north swells. A 3/2 mm wetsuit will generally be enough in summer, with 4/3 and up for fall and winter. The area has a multitude of waves for all levels, mostly breaking over sand, making this a popular place to learn to surf.
Surfers Lodge Peniche works well for families. They offer a surfing school with instructors for all levels that include board rental and video analysis. The lodge holds up to 46 people and can be rented out for weddings, company events, family reunions, and bachelor parties. They regularly hold rooftop events that include music and dancing.
