ThunerBomb Surf Camp is located in the northwest corner of Nicaragua. This boutique surf camp offers all-inclusive packages and is not far from the El Salvador border.
The camp is owned and operated by two guys who just couldn’t get enough surfing: Jonathan and Albertus. Their team consists of resident locals. Packages at ThunderBomb Surf Camp can be purchased as a solo traveler, small group, or even the entire camp. It can also be rented out for yoga retreats.
Meals are prepared by the resident chef and include local, Mexican, BBQ, Asian cuisine, and plenty of fresh fruits and fish from the area. You have access to hot coffee and fresh juice throughout the day. The cherry on top is unlimited beer and rum, which Nicaragua can do with the best of them.
The camp has a fun, uncrowded break just out front that’s accessible at any time. Beyond that, there are guided tours by 4×4 to some of the top breaks in northern Nicaragua including Puerto Sandino, The Boom, Meat Grinders, Asuchillo, and Chiggas. Lessons and coaching are also available for beginners and intermediates.
Non-surfing activities available include horseback riding tours on the beach, volcano boarding on Cerro Negro, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding.
Flights are made into Managua and ThunderBomb Surf Camp offers free airport transfers with their packages. ThunderBomb is also equipped with wi-fi so you can stay connected as much as you need to. Photographers and videographers are available for an extra charge.
